This week we learned about butterflies!
We started by watching a butterfly video on youtube. Take a look below:
Next, we made butterflies on paper with paint! We painted half of our butterfly, folded them in half, and opened them up to reveal a symmetrical butterfly! We learned about what symmetrical means. It means that if you cut something in half, both sides would be the same.
Take a look at our process:
| We put paper towel on half of the butterfly to remind the children to only paint HALF of the butterfly. |
After we let our beautiful butterflies dry, we cut them out, glued them on to construction paper, and then cut out our butterfly with the construction paper glued on. Then, we glue a clothespin to the back so we could clip our butterfly onto things!
Take a look at our family tree with our butterflies!
Can you find which one is your child's?
