Thank you, Jesus

Blessings Every Day

I ordered a prayer book for our classroom and finally came yesterday (after 2 months of waiting patiently). The book is called "Blessings Every Day" and it includes simple and short excerpts about simple devotions for kids to think about and discuss. 

Today's excerpt was about God telling us that it's okay to be weak. We don't have to be strong at everything and we can ask God to help strengthen us in certain areas where we are weak.

After we read this page and discussed it, we had a prayer circle where we prayed to Jesus and God to strengthen us in a certain aspect of our life! Here are some of the prayers that were said today:

• Cook better pizza
• Take better care of my dog
• Take better care of my cat
• Colour neater
• Be a good friend
• Share with my friends

Great prayers today, Kinders! 

Thank you, Jesus

Today we sat in a circle and said "Thank you, Jesus" for something in our lives! This was the first time we have done that this year and we did so well. The Kinders took their turns and thanked Jesus for many blessings. As the kids take turns, they pass around a talking stick. We learned that only the person with the talking stick gets to talk. This is a great way to learn about sharing and taking turns. 
We have so many blessings to be thankful for in our lives and sometimes we get so busy that we forget to say thank you to Jesus. This is a great way to close down our busy day and take the time to all listen and look at each other, while thanking and praying to Jesus.
