Postcards for Peace Response

In October our class made "Postcards for Peace." We sent them to Afghanistan to send our appreciation to our Canadian Armed Forces. If you want to see the post about our postcards, click here

Today we received an email response from Frederic. Our Kindergarten class truly appreciates the time Frederic took to respond. It made my day!

Mrs Jackson

Thank you to you and your class for sending the postcards.  They were very very well done.   I enjoyed them very much, and was impressed with all the stars, hearts and smiley faces drawn on hearts.  I wanted to take the time to respond, as your students put the effort forward in putting them together.

It is very appreciative to see that remembrance day still has meaning even as the World Wars become distance memories.  I have three young boys at home under the age of 7 years, so when I read the cards, it brought thoughts of home.   Although I have served for the last 21 years, I do so out of pride.  Having served in Afghanistan (twice) Bosnia (twice) and Kosovo.

I have read every single card that your students sent, and can honestly say that I was very moved and impressed.
