I Lost a Tooth #1

Today we had TWO of our Kinders tell us that they lost a baby tooth! How exciting! In our classroom we have a special treat for Kinders when they lose a tooth. They get to pick a place on our map and then we get to read about what children in that part of the world do there. The Kinders were very excited to learn about children in other parts of the world! We realized that not all children have a tooth fairy come for their teeth. Some children have other traditions!

This is what our classroom map display looks like!
This is our title for our display.

This is what the kids get to sign their name on when they lose a tooth.
This is the book we read from when a child loses their tooth and picks a place on the map.

First boy to lose a tooth in our class! This boy chose France as his destination. So... we read about what children do in France when they lose a tooth!

This is what they do in France with baby teeth! Wow! The kids giggled because they thought it was funny that a little mouse comes for their tooth, rather than the tooth fairy!

Next up! The first girl to lose a tooth in our class! She chose Mali (in Africa).

This is what they do in Mali when the kids lose a baby tooth! The kids also giggled at this part because the kids in Mali put a tooth in the chicken coop and no tooth fairy comes for them either!

Congratulations on losing a tooth, Kinders! Great choices for places in the world! We all learned something today from you!
